Taking a bold new step in community services and capacity building, we realized our statements needed to reflect our commitment to transformational change.
Scarborough Connect (SC) is the leading provider of Community support services.
These services include but are not limited to, an in-depth in-take and assessment conducted by our trained and skilled professionals followed by clinical intervention services using a culturally competent approach. Our services are specifically designed for our community. We provide counseling, intervention, community education, and support services to help members of our community make positive changes in their lives.
Our services are confidential and address personal challenges with children, youth, seniors 55+ and older adults work or life issues.
We provide evidence-based practices in youth and children’s mental health and at-risk services using Effective Child Therapy (ECT), Counselling and support services , and intervention. We offer a multi-dimensional culturally competent approach with our counseling models. We serve the community by providing short/long-term intervention treatment care to children, youth and seniors.
We have designed a forensic support program aimed at assisting Youth coming out of the justice system who are over-represented in the criminal justice system. These programs include:
Scarborough Connect is governed by a volunteer board of directors who live within the Greater Toronto area (GTA). We have dedicated volunteer management and a staff team that ensures that our programs and services are delivered with the highest standards every day. Our staff are professionals who donate their time to form a consortium for Community outreach services.
Workplace violence is prohibited by Canadian legislation. In keeping with its values and legal responsibilities as an employer, Scarborough Connect will hear any complaint of violence in the workplace as a serious matter.
Scarborough Connect is a community Services organization and is fully committed to providing a workplace and counseling environment that promotes professionalism and ethical behavior. Scarborough Connect will assess the risks of workplace violence that may arise from the nature of the workplace, in accordance with the provisions of the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
All clients, staff, volunteers, students, and community visitors of the agency have the right to enjoy an environment that is safe and free of any form of physical or emotional violence. The agency actively promotes and practices zero tolerance for violent incidences and has procedures in place for dealing with these in an effective and timely manner should they arise.
Scarborough Connect Community Services is fully committed to upholding the Ontario Human Rights Code.
